Trauma Informed Practice: Understanding Oppression as Trauma
Clinicians, Social Workers and Educations will build on their foundational understanding of trauma to explore the traumatic impact of oppression. Participants will explore the ways trauma may manifest and be misinterpreted due to lack on insight regarding the types of trauma that fall outside what has been historically been included in the trauma lens.
Breaking Through Barriers: Professional Action Planning for Women Entering the Workforce
This session will focus on identifying and examining some of the unique barriers that young women encounter as they enter the workforce as a new professional in order to create actionable plans to overcome these obstacles.
Actioning Gender Equality: The Importance of Male Allyship
Although women are most directly impacted by sexism and gender inequality in our organizations and communities, it is important to recognize the negative impacts, both direct and indirect, of this form of oppression on all members of our society. In this session, participants will explore the unique role that men can play in disrupting gender inequality and fostering more inclusive and equitable spaces. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss what male allyship looks like and how they can take actionable steps to mitigate the impacts of sexism within their professional environments and community through intentional acts of allyship.
