Parishoner Survey 2021

Dear People of the Archdiocese:

As a Catholic community, we are called to provide an environment of compassion to victims who have experienced abuse and to do all we can to bring healing to the victims, their loved ones and the entire community of faith. Currently, the Archdiocese is undergoing a major organizational review in an effort to address the claims of the victims of abuse suffered at the Mount Cashel Orphanage in the 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s.

While the full value of these claims is not yet known, there are serious concerns that their total may be greater than the value of our assets, including our church buildings and properties.  With this in mind, we have prepared this survey and are seeking your input to be used in developing an informed and practical plan for the ongoing provision of ministries, programs and services to the people of the Archdiocese.

An online version of the survey can be found on the Archdiocesan website at www.rcsj.org, and in some parishes it can also be accessed via the parish website.  You may also return a completed paper copy of the survey to your local parish, or mail it to the Archdiocese at Parish Survey, 200 Military Road, St. John’s, NL A1C 2E8.  We ask that all completed surveys be submitted prior to June 30, 2021.

Thanking you for your input and asking for your continued prayer support,

+Peter Hundt
