The Community Alliance with Family Farmers' (CAFF) Farm to School initiative reconnects children with local food and agriculture in the classroom, on the farm, and in the cafeteria. CAFF is a member of the California Farm to School Task Force. The Task Force strives to expand Farm to School programs throughout the state by increasing access to nutritious foods from economically viable CA farms to all schools, communities, and homes. Farm to School programs vary and can range from farm field trips to nutrition education in school gardens to farm fresh salad bars in cafeterias. The main goal of Farm to School programs is to connect schools with local farms, while pursuing the following objectives: serving healthy meals in school cafeterias, improving student nutrition, providing health and nutrition education opportunities, and supporting California farmers.

We are interested in featuring your program on our California Farm to School Website (www.cafarmtoschool.org) to highlight existing programs. More attention is being paid to Farm to School by the general public, government agencies, and those wanting to start new programs. Your work is an inspiration to all of us who are building Farm to School programs in the state. We would like to direct interested folks to nearby programs that are making a difference.
