Since 1980, Pacific Whale Foundation has been leading the charge in advocacy, research and education for the protection of whales, dolphins, turtles and other marine animals living wild in their natural habitat.

Founded with the primary goal of saving the humpback whales, which were dangerously close to extinction in 1980, our expanded mission today is to protect the ocean through science and advocacy and inspire environmental stewardship.

In our 39 years as an organization, we are proud to have had ocean conservation victories on behalf of the whales. Highlights from years past include ending the operation of a high-speed ferry service through calving grounds, banning plastic bags, smoking and tobacco use at beaches and parks, banning the display of captive cetaceans and helping to designate the false killer whale as an endangered species.

Please help us better understand how our community of Members, partners and supporters view our work in 2019.
