AAST Fellow Member Nomination Form

The AAST Fellow Program recognizes those who have made significant and sustained contributions to the field of Sleep Technology and AAST. Please read below for additional information regarding the nomination requirements and process.

This Fellow title will be offered on an invitation only, non-emolument basis to individuals who are highly regarded in the sleep technology field and who possess attributes that align with the AAST’s mission, vision and values. The purpose of these such Fellow positions is to establish a recognized, collaborative partnership between the AAST and each fellow that leverages mutual strengths. These appointments provide a platform to advance the profession, promote and the AAST, and encourage innovative contributions that have a meaningful impact on the field.

Since the distinction of AAST Honorary Fellow is not intended as a memorial award, a nomination submitted posthumously shall not be considered by the selection committee unless the nominee is living at the time of the submission deadline date.

Fellow Member Expectations:
AAST Fellow members will be expected to maintain their credentials and continue their professional development.

AAST Fellow members will have the honor to identify themselves with "FAAST" distinction after their names.

Fellow Requirements:
AAST Fellows are defined as individuals who meet the following qualifications:

Be credentialed in sleep technology by a nationally recognized organization for at least ten (10) years and has made significant contributions to the field of sleep technology for at least five (5) years prior to the date of the nomination.

Be an active regular member of the AAST in good standing for at least five (5) consecutive years prior to the date on which the nomination is submitted.

Must be a member and volunteer in good standing, with no history of resignation or removal from any position.

Have attained distinction in one of the following ways:
o Significant professional service to the AAST as a volunteer or committee member or board member.
o Significant professional contributions to the field of sleep technology. This can include publications/research, education, and mentorship.
o Prominent leadership, influence, and achievement in clinical practice, education or science.

Nomination Requirements:
Only AAST Fellow members in good standing can nominate AAST regular members in good standing to be considered for nomination to the AAST 2026 Fellow Class. Nominators are required to complete the AAST Fellow Nomination Form along with all supporting documentation by the submission deadline, February 8, 2026.

Selection Process:
Nominations will be evaluated by the Fellowship Selection Committee, in accordance with the AAST Fellow Requirements.

field of sleep technology for at least 5 years prior to the date of the nomination.

5.Please list any additional contributions to the AAST, including elected offices, committee positions held, service provided, speaking at national conferences.(Required.)
6.OPTIONAL: please list the nominees professional membership to organizations other than AAST, including in formal committees with a focus on sleep diagnostics, therapeutics.
7.Please list the nominees leadership activities, including managerial positions, professional presentations, long and outstanding participation in training/teaching activities, leadership within the community relating to the advancement of the field.(Required.)
8.Finally, please outlining the nominees contributions to the profession of sleep technology, providing sufficient data that - in your judgment - substantiates the qualifications of the nominee with respect to each of the above Fellows requirement.(Required.)
