This painting is one of a number of studies carried out by the artist in preparation for the larger portrait of renowned Australian composer Elena Kats-Chernin titled The Witching Hour, which was submitted for the 2017 Archibald Prize.

The auction will close at 7:45pm on Saturday 4 November. The name of the winning bidder will be displayed on-screen in the City Recital Hall foyer on the night, unless anonymity is requested. Silent Auction Rules

  1. By bidding in City Recital Hall’s silent auction, each bidder agrees to these auction rules.
  2. All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted. This item is sold “as is.” City Recital Hall has attempted to describe the item correctly, but neither warrants nor represents and in no event shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness, authorship, provenance or condition of the items.
  3. This auction item has not been appraised.
  4. Payment for the item purchased must be made in full within a week of closing the auction on Saturday 4 November. City Recital Hall accepts cash, MasterCard, Visa, or a cheque made payable to City Recital Hall.
  5. Following payment, you may pick up your purchase. You must show your paid receipt for the item on collection.
  6. City Recital Hall reserves the right to add or withdraw the item, without notice, to or from the auction.
  7. Each person bidding assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and the item obtained at the auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising indirectly from City Recital Hall, their elected and appointed officials, members and employees, the event organisers, sponsors, and/or volunteers connected with the auction.
  8. All bids must be submitted on a City Recital Hall issued bid sheet with contains the legal clauses above.
  9. Bidders must include their full name, address, email and phone details on the bid sheet for their bid to be valid.
  10. If you make multiple bids, the most recently dated submission will be valid. All other bids will be deemed null and void.
  11. Any mailed bids should be sent to: Development, City Recital Hall Limited, 2-12 Angel Place, Sydney, NSW 2000 and must be received before Saturday 4 November.
