What Does Welcome Mean To You?

Rules of engagement

1.     SSI reserves the right to not use any photos that do not adhere to the rules of engagement of the site and community standards.

2.     Respect everyone's privacy. Photos can only be used that you own and have consent to use. Be careful not to photograph people, a business, or take a photo on public or private property that you have not been given consent for. 

3.    We reserve the right to not include any photos or captions that do not adhere to SSI's values,  and Facebook’s community standards including comments that are deemed racist, sexist, abusive, profane, violent, or obscene.

4.   The photos and captions must relate to the theme of welcome.

5.   By uploading your photograph and caption, you give permission for SSI and its Stakeholders (including, but not limited to, the Refugee Council of Australia, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and assorted local councils) to publish your photograph and caption on Facebook and other media platforms for the purposes of the 2020 Refugee Week Exhibition. You acknowledge that SSI and its Stakeholders may continue to display your photograph and caption on Facebook and other media platforms past the end date of 2020 Refugee Week Exhibition. You can withdraw your permission at any time by contacting bsmall@ssi.org.au.

6.   By uploading your photo and caption, you acknowledge that you will receive no payment, including fees royalties or other benefits, from SSI and/or its Stakeholders for the use of your photo and caption.

7.   By uploading your photo and caption, you acknowledge that that if you withdraw your permission for your photo and caption to be used, SSI will cease any future new publication or use of the photo and caption, but, for several years, the photo and caption may appear in printed and electronic material which have already been produced or disseminated.

8.   The copyright in your photo and caption will reside with you and SSI and its Stakeholders will acknowledge you as the author of the photo and caption when publishing your work.”
