Alumni Application: One-to-one mentoring |
1.
Thank you for expressing an interest in being a mentor to a Mitchell Hamline student. Because we now have students enrolled not only from the Twin Cities metro area but from all over the country we are looking for mentors in communities across the United States. We try to place students with mentors who are working in an area of particular interest to them and, if possible, who live in the same geographic area. As a result, we cannot guarantee that a student will be matched with you. If it appears we have a good match we will confirm your interest and availability before matching you with a student.
The time commitment for being a mentor varies, but we suggest connecting with your student at least twice after you've been matched. If possible, we suggest that attorneys invite the student to visit their firm or organization, meet the student for coffee or lunch, and help the student make connections in the legal community by introducing them to other attorneys. You may also invite the student to attend a CLE or professional meeting or invite the student to get involved with a pro bono or other project.

If you graduated between 2010 and 2016 and live in the Twin Cities area, please consider signing up instead for the Mitchell Hamline Mentors program.
