Anonymous Public Input Survey on the Transportation Management Areas in Puerto Rico

The San Juan and Aguadilla Transportation Management Areas (TMA’s) are federally designated metropolitan planning organizations (MPO’s) for Puerto Rico and are charged with ensuring that federal transportation funds are spent in accordance with federal policy.
Every four years, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) perform a joint review to certify the planning practices of MPOs with populations over 200,000 in their urbanized areas, which are referred to as Transportation Management Areas (TMAs). The Certification Review Process ensures that the planning requirements in TMAs are being satisfactorily implemented.
San Juan and Aguadilla TMA’s makes local and regional transportation planning decisions about how to spend federal transportation dollars in your region. San Juan and Aguadilla TMA’s develop many planning products, including a regional Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP), and Congestion Management Process (CMP).
