Welcome

The Merilyn Luck Gallery
The Merilyn Luck Gallery for Central Queensland Artists honours former Rockhampton Art Gallery Chairperson and Trustee, Mrs Merilyn Luck. This exhibition space acknowledges the advocacy role Mrs Luck has played in developing cultural opportunities for Central Queenslanders, and who has long recognised the Gallery as ‘the cultural heart of our city’.

The Merilyn Luck Gallery for Central Queensland Artists (the Merilyn Luck Gallery) is a small-scale exhibition space on the Gallery’s first floor. Offering the choice of 18.5 running metres of wall space, or a five metre long showcase, Central Queensland artists are invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI), outlining their exhibition proposals.

Applicants are encouraged to consult the Merilyn Luck Gallery plan included with this application form, noting the restrictions of this exhibition space. All work proposed must be 'ready to hang', with d-rings or picture wire attached. All framing and matting is the responsibility of the exhibiting artist.

The Merilyn Luck Gallery is open to Central Queensland artists residing in the following regions and shires: Rockhampton, Livingstone, Gladstone, Banana, Woorabinda, Central Highlands, Isaac, Barcaldine, Blackall-Tambo, Longreach, Winton, Barcoo, Diamantina and Boulia.

EOIs will be assessed by the Gallery Director, Curator, and Exhibitions Officer, and considered on the quality of work submitted, concept, and suitability to the exhibition space.
