Amendments to the OKCHE Constitution

Thank you for taking a few minutes to read and vote on proposed changes to the Oklahoma Council for History Education constitution.  In accordance with our constitution (Article VI, Sections 2 and 3): The Board of Directors shall discuss all proposed amendments to the Constitution, and then present its recommendations, and a copy of the proposed amendment, to the active members (Section 2).  The constitution shall be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of the active members by electronic means within the time frame designated on the ballot (Section 3).

Question Title

* 1. Article IV. Administration

Section I. The Board of Directors

A. The administration of the OKCHE shall rest with the Board of Directors.

B. The Board of Directors shall consist of:

1. A maximum of ten members elected by the active membership in accordance with the provisions of this constitution;

2. And, the Executive Committee (See Section II)

C. Each Director, excluding officers, shall be nominated and elected to a three-year term by the current Board.

Section III: Elections

C.  Officers and directors will be decided by a simple majority vote.

Section IV: Removal

A.  The Board of Directors may remove an officer or director if, for some reason, the person is no longer fit to serve.

B.  The motion may be made by any officer or director.

C.  The vote to remove will be made by the Board of Directors.

D.  A three-fourths majority of the Board will be required for removal.

Article VI. Amendments

Section 3.  Vote
The constitution shall be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of the active members who submit a vote by electronic means within the time frame designated on the ballot.
