This questionnaire forms part of the MCCI and CAPFOR AI Business Barometer, a joint initiative of the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) and CAPFOR Mauritius. It seeks to better understand how companies in Mauritius are using artificial intelligence (AI), how prepared they are to adopt it more widely, what benefits they are seeing, and what challenges they face.
The findings will help identify practical priorities for awareness, evidence-based policy dialogue and advocacy, training, guidance, and targeted support for companies in Mauritius.

What do we mean by AI?
For this survey, AI includes tools and systems that can generate content, analyse information, make predictions, detect patterns, automate decisions, or support human work.
Examples include:
- tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, or Claude used for writing, summarising, searching, or creating content
- chatbots and virtual assistants
- tools used to predict trends or outcomes, such as sales, demand, fraud, or maintenance needs
- tools that extract or process information from documents
- tools that analyse images or video
- AI-enabled automation built into software, workflows, or business processes
In manufacturing and operations, this may also include AI used in quality inspection, predictive maintenance, production planning, demand forecasting, and process optimisation.
