The Board of Directors would like your input for the purpose of our long-range planning. Your candid responses would be greatly appreciated. Results of the survey will be published in a future issue of the Mainsheet, and posted on the website, www.lf2.org. By completing this survey and entering your email address, you will be entered to win a July 4th party package, including a cabana, a parking pass, and 6 guest wristbands. * 7. The intent of the CC&R’s was to “create a planned development community, primarily for residential use, in which such natural beauty shall be substantially preserved.” How do you feel about the enforcement of the Master Association’s CC&R’s?

* 10. Lake Forest II is considering distributing ballots later in the year in an attempt to obtain enough votes to amend the bylaws to change the terms for the Board of Directors from one year to two years.

The Board is considering this change for the following reasons:

·        The Association spends up to $10,500 each time we have an annual election, which covers printing and mailing costs of ballots and the counting of ballots by an independent inspector of election required by state law. Eliminating this annual expense will help reduce assessment increases.

·        The Association spends these funds even if only seven people run for the seven open board seats. During the past ten years, there has been seven candidates for seven open seats three times.

·        It takes a new board member a full year on the board to become knowledgeable about the Association’s budget and operations. The Association’s budget is complex as we budget for each tract separately, private streets, lake maintenance, and Club operations including state mandated Reserve funds.

·        It takes a new board member substantial time to be familiar with CC&R enforcement procedures and legal requirements mandated by the state.

·        The Association benefits from having candidates commit to two years as they will become knowledgeable and capable of taking leadership positions as officers of the Board.

This change to the bylaws requires a 75% approval vote of the entire membership. Before the Board proceeds with the vote for this purpose, they would like to hear your opinion regarding this issue

I support the change in Board of Director term lengths, and favor an election to amend the bylaws.
