The Board of Directors of the Scarritt-Bennett Center (SBC) is engaged in a strategic planning process. Our vision is that SBC continues to be a powerful resource for those committed to social justice and women's empowerment and leadership.

We are building on a rich foundation of faith, education, and forward thinking. Our Nashville-based retreat and education center is on one of the most significant campuses in the south. Our programs are designed to rekindle the spirit and commitment of those for whom SBC was a life changing experience as well as attract an ever expanding network of people who share our mission of justice.

We know that you, too, care about the future of SBC and that you have good ideas about how we can best move forward together. The following survey questions ask for your ideas in several areas. But you don't need to comment on all of them. Just respond to the questions you feel most strongly about and skip the others.

Please complete the survey by March 10. If you have any questions, please contact me at Our strategic planning committee will also be conducting individual interviews and gathering information from other retreat and conference centers from which we can learn. We are also learning all we can from our internal operations and program, service, and financial trends.

By our board meeting in July we intend to have a draft plan that our Executive Director can use to align operational priorities and ensure successful implementation. Once we have a plan that both inspires us and that can be achieved, we will share it with all of you and ask for your partnership in making it happen.

Thank you in advance for your wisdom and guidance.
