Del Paso Regional Park Project- An improvement?

Community Input

.Are you concerned that the new proposed play fields at Renfree Field will become just an extension of the Homeless Shelter next door?(Required.)
.Are you concerned that once completed the new Renfree Field will follow the same path of no maintenance, no law enforcement, and City of Sacramento abandonment to the unlawful forces that the community pushed out before? Is this History repeating itself?(Required.)
.In the last 6 months volunteers have picked-up medical waste, human waste and a loaded handgun in and around Renfree Field and the Natural Habitat. Is your family's safety a concern while playing on the new courts and fields?(Required.)
.The City of Sacramento has transferred ownership in Del Paso Regional Park to business interests in the past. Just a few years ago the City of Sacramento entered into a contract to sell this portion of the park to Commercial Real Estate Developers. Do you think that the City of Sacramento improving this site in order to put this park property on the market again?(Required.)
.When the City of Sacramento proposed and put-in the parking lot off of Auburn Boulevard near the play area, they did so with the promise that parking lot use would be locked dusk to dawn. The businesses along Auburn Boulevard as well as the surrounding residential neighborhoods have urged City Parks to keep their promise and to lock that gate to prohibit the illicit activity that the parking lot attracts at night including vehicle camping. The City of Sacramento has never kept it's promise and continues to allow that activity to this day. How troubled are you that the City of Sacramento will allow the lawless activity to take over this new facility?(Required.)
.The criminal history in Renfree Field includes prostitution, HUMAN TRAFFICKING, Drug trafficking, and Gang Activity. The parking lot at Renfree would get so prolific with unlawful activity that it would spill out onto Bridge Road. Bridge Road became a bee hive of this activity so much so that Emergency Responders were not able to navigate the street in order to service a call in the County neighborhood behind the park. Do you think the chances of reopening a new parking lot at Renfree Field will likely result in history repeating itself?(Required.)
.The City of Sacramento is sponsoring a ballot initiative in November for Homeless Shelters which was a compromise with City Businesses that were going to sponsor their own initiative. The “Buffer Zone” clause in that ballot initiative would prohibit playgrounds or playfields within 1000' of a Homeless Shelter. How disingenuous is the City of Sacramento when they propose a grant expenditure that appears to violate their own ballot initiative?(Required.)
.When the City of Sacramento abandoned Renfree Field, the lawless element took over and burned down the Snack Shack, the bleachers, and removed copper wiring from the lights. A person was electrocuted while taking live copper lines out of the electrical panel. How concerned are you that this history of Renfree Field will repeat itself with the new renovation?(Required.)
.State of California, Prop 68 grants money so that cities and counties can establish or re-establish, “Parks (that) are unique places where children can play, people exercise, families bond, seniors socialize, youth are mentored, cultures share and celebrate their differences, and everyone can connect with nature. Do you think that spending Prop 68 money next to a Homeless Respite Center in Del Paso Regional Park is going to attain these goals?(Required.)
