How to open up the audiovisual sector and make it more inclusive? How to change the audiovisual sector to make it safer? How to inform students of their rights and duties as future industry professionals and empower them to transform the sector for the better ?
This European workshop will aim at supporting joint reflections and actions between educational bodies, trade unions and other sector organisations for a fair, equal and safe audiovisual industry. The workshop will gather film school educators and staff, students, as well as representatives from unions, associations, and collectives. It will provide a space to share and discuss existing or potential future initiatives aimed at making of the audiovisual sector a welcoming and safe place for everyone, and at informing students and young professionals of the legal frameworks, policies and measures designed to protect them from workplace discrimination and violence, as well as of the individual and collective ways to ensure good working conditions and fair opportunities for all in the audiovisual sector.
It will be organised in close cooperation with the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) department of the Institute for Arts, Design + Technology Dún Laoghaire (IADT).
The workshop will be held on Friday 12th June, from 9:00 to 17:30 at IADT Carnegie Hub, 19-23 George’s Street Lower, Dún Laoghaire, Dublin, A96 X2AA.
Simultaneous interpretation will be available in English, French and Spanish (languages to be confirmed depending on the participants’ needs).
Seats are limited. Registrations will be confirmed by email.
Participants eligible for the reimbursement of their travel and accommodation costs will also be informed by email.
