Oregonians today benefit from the forethought of leaders 50 years ago.

In 1973, Legislators codified Senate Bill 100 as the vision for conservation and development in Oregon. Almost 50 years later, we are looking back at both the program's success and challenges, and looking forward, to the next 50 years.
We count farm and forest land preservation as a success for Oregon, along with natural resource protection. We also value and continue to find ways to support our partnerships with state agencies and local governments.

While we are pleased to have made great strides to support increased housing production, we know there is a long way to go. Current and future challenges include climate change, economic development, more equitable quality of life outcomes for all Oregonians, and preparing our state and communities for natural hazards.
