1. Online Consent

You are being invited to participate in a research study titled Exploring culturally competent behaviors in clinical supervision. This study is being done by Mark Beverly from Northern Arizona University. The purpose of this research study is to investigate the perspectives of licensed psychologists, pre- and post-doctoral interns, and students about their experiences in clinical Supervision, to obtain information on specific supervisor behaviors and practices considered to be most important to address diversity in Clinical Supervision. If you agree to take part in this study, please complete the survey below. This survey will ask about your experience of clinical supervision, the experience of culturally sensitive supervision behaviors, demographic variables, preparatory experiences, and training and it will take you approximately 15 minutes to complete. You may not directly benefit from this research; however, we hope that with your participation in the study, you will have the opportunity to reflect and learn more about your supervisory experiences, and culturally sensitive supervisory behaviors, as well as contribute to providing a framework that may be used to evaluate and guide policy and practice by improving understanding of the barriers to delivering culturally appropriate clinical Supervision and the development of shared understandings and recommendations through new shared understandings, connections, and insights that may be beneficial to you in your practice.
We believe there are no known risks associated with this research study; however, as with any online-related activity, the risk of a breach of confidentiality is always possible. To the best of our ability, your answers in this study will remain confidential. We will minimize any risks by not collecting identifying information from participants and through the use of broad hypothetical supervision experiences as opposed to asking about participants’ personal experiences. Further, Only the Researcher and 2 Faculty advisors will have access to data. Further, any transmission will be encrypted (e.g., TLS or HTTPS or secure file transfer protocols, SFTP, SSH, SMB 3). In the event that transmission via email is necessary, the Researcher will use encrypted and secured with a digital signature. Data will be stored on ITS secured server, and or workstation or mobile with full-disk Encryption. Any paper records will be shredded, Also, any electronic media used to store data will be scrubbed after the files are deleted. Data will not be kept for future research, will not be shared, and or be sold to pharmaceutical companies. Your participation in this study is completely voluntary and you can withdraw at any time. You are free to skip any question that you choose. If you choose not to participate it will not affect your relationship with Northern Arizona University or result in any other penalty or loss of benefits to which you are otherwise entitled. Participants will be entered into draw to receive a gift card worth $50.00 each. Please provide your contact details in the link provided at the end of the survey to receive the gift cards should you win. Ten participants will be drawn to receive a gift card worth $50.00 each.
