INTRODUCTION

The House of Delegates has a call for Critical Issues annually, although they recognize members may have submissions during other times of the year.  Academy members are key contributors to identifying Critical Issues.  Please review the definition of a Critical Issue below.

Critical Issues arise from a variety of sources and have certain characteristics. Critical Issues:
  • have strategic importance to the Academy and dietetics practice.
  • can cut across multiple discipline areas or relate to a specialized practice area.
  • have immediate or intermediate impact on the profession (3 or more years).
  • reveal novel threats and opportunities in a VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity) environment, and often require a systems approach or solution.
If you would like to submit a Critical Issue, please complete the survey.
