Thank you for your interest in the ABIS Mentoring Programme for ESRs.

Your role as a mentor in the programme will be to support the personal and professional development of one or more young researchers who are enrolled in a business school, at least in the second year of their PhD programme and are engaged in research focused on a sustainable development issue.

Please answer the questions below in order to allow the ABIS team to evaluate your profile and gather information to facilitate the matchmaking process. Your answers will be seen by mentees, other mentors and the ABIS Team. Mentees will be able to select three preferred mentors based on these information prior to the final matchmaking by the ABIS team.

‘Letting Go’: you give time to let things develop; you avoid rushing, pressure and an over-emotional approach

'Active Listening’: you ask clarifying questions and check things by summarizing, show understanding and are reserved in giving your own opinion

'Advisory style': you give suggestions and alternatives so that the mentee can make a choice, and advise as an objective outsider

‘Prescribing’ style: you offer instructions on how to handle problems, being convincing and persuading, requiring improvement and highlighting consequences

‘Cooperative’ Style: you strive for a joint vision and cooperation; you involving the mentee in problem-solving and give space to his/her opinions
