The Arzola Scholarship was created in recognition of Arthur's work in the field and to continue to support the mission of those who work with underrepresented student communities, thus supporting the mission of the IDEA committee and WACAC.

Recipients will be notified about the scholarship by early March.

Who can apply or be nominated for this scholarship? Eligible candidates must be members of WACAC who are college admission officers with 5 or fewer years of experience working with underrepresented student populations in California and Nevada.

What does the scholarship pay for?
  • Registration for IDEA Institute
  • Full Conference: Super Conference with PNACAC and RMACAC Registration (May 20-22, 2019)
  • Reasonable travel expenses to conference (if applicable)
  • Lodging accommodations for the length of the Institute and conference at a double occupancy rate
  • Meal stipend not exceeding $60.00 per day
Please note that conference scholarships do not include funds for meals outside of those offered in conjunction with the conference, incidentals, or other pre-conference workshops.

Conference Details: The 2019 Super Conference in partnership with Pacific Northwest and Rocky Mountain will be on May 20-22, 2019 at Arizona Grand Resort & Spa in Phoenix, Arizona.

What is expected of the recipient who receives the scholarship? The scholarship recipient will be asked to present a one-page reflection after the conference and will need to attend the IDEA Institute, where they will be acknowledged as the scholarship recipient.
