Home-School Communication Technologies: PTA Perspectives

Are you using a platform, app, or other technology to keep track of your child’s progress in school or communicate with their teachers? The Center for Family Engagement wants to hear from you as part of a project to improve how schools use these technologies to communicate with families so that they can support their childrens’ learning! Your feedback will help us create a report that will catalogue the types of family engagement technologies and features that matter most to parents.
1.What platforms, apps, or other technologies does your child’s teacher and/or school use to communicate with you about your child’s learning? Please list all that apply.
2.Do your home-school communication platforms allow for two-way communication between you and your child's teacher(s) and/or school?
3.What are the most useful features offered by your home-school communication platforms (i.e. student academic and behavioral updates, parent resources, direct teacher communication, etc.)
4.What feature(s) do you wish your home-school communication platforms had?
5.If you were to give the home-school communication technologies in your child’s school a grade, what grade would you give them?
6.What advice would you give to teachers and school leaders about how to improve the home-school communication technologies that they use with families?
7.Are you interested in having ongoing engagement with this project? If so, please share your email:
