Planning for Success in The Great Give® 2016

A question often asked is "How can my organization be more successful in The Great Give®?", and the answer is no secret. Like any project, success is proportionate with the planning, networking and commitment that an organization puts forth. Common misconceptions are that the big winners in The Great Give® are large organizations; or have big development and/or marketing departments; or have huge mailing lists.

The secret is that the big winners have great plans, executed over time; make a commitment to making The Great Give® one of the organization’s primary fundraising efforts; and effectively use their network of Board, staff and volunteers to achieve success.

The workshop series below is free to help your organization plan success in The Great Give® 2016. You can attend one, two or more to gain the tools you need for your organization’s success.

Mechanics Webinar, April 20, 1pm-2pm - online
The Give Local America team will highlight what The Great Give® website will look like on the day of the event, how to embed the donation form on your website and how to access donor data for your organization.

Accounting for Gifts, April 28, 9am-10am
Monies your organization will receive from The Great Give® come in the form of a grant from The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven. You will, however, want to soft credit the individual donors and keep track of the amount of their donation for stewardship. This webinar will explain the ways you can account for the grant and gifts within your accounting system. This workshop is for development and finance staff with the responsibility of financial record keeping.
