Submission Guidelines

We appreciate your interest in submitting a workshop proposal for the 2022 Massachusetts Land Conservation Conference. This year's theme is "Communicating Conservation: Building the Message for the 21st Century". We especially invite presentations that speak to this theme. We also encourage presenters to address equity and inclusion in their workshops.

Time and Place
Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 24, 25 and 26, via a Zoom-based platform.

Session Guidelines
All sessions will be 75 minutes long, of which at least 20 minutes should be reserved for questions and discussion. Session formats include classroom-style presentations, panels featuring up to three speakers, break-out rooms (if requested), and roundtable discussions. Proposed panels should be limited to three presenters, comprised of representatives from different organizations to allow attendees to hear different perspectives / approaches. We will provide a host for each session to introduce panelists and assist with managing the question and answer session and any tech issues that may arise.

By submitting a workshop proposal you agree that all parts of your presentation will be recorded, and made available to conference attendees during the conference and for a period of at least 2 months after its conclusion.

New this year: We encourage proposals for in-the-field walks and talks that would be held outdoors during an afternoon session. You may propose an outdoor workshop of 90 minutes to 3 hours in length, to be held anywhere in Massachusetts. These could be site visits of ground-breaking projects, hands-on skill-building workshops, field-based discussions of approaches to handling challenges in your work, or simply highlighting one of your properties. In all cases, it would be good to relay how you communicated to your constituents about this project or property.
Proposal Deadline
Thursday, October 28

Important

You will not be able to Save & Return to this form, so we highly suggest writing your answers in Word or similar, then cutting and pasting them into this form.

Submit one proposal at a time, and be sure to CLICK "SUBMIT" at the end of the form to submit your proposal.

You will be contacted by early December to let you know whether your proposal has been accepted. In order to provide greater breadth or depth on a topic, the Planning Committee may ask you to co-present with a specific person whom you might not yet know, or request an adjustment to your proposed workshop title, description, or track assignment. We will discuss such changes with you before finalizing the program.

All workshop presenters will receive one complimentary conference registration.
