Project Title: Personality and Academic Achievement

1. The purpose of this study

This study is conducted by second year psychology students as part of an assignment into the relationship between personality and academic achievement.

2. Why have I been selected to take part and what are the exclusion criteria?

You have been selected as the study requires access of four grades of assignments submitted this year, only current students are invited to take part.

3. What will I have to do?

You will be required to answer a series of statements with how much they are like you on a scale of 1-5. The study should take no longer than fifteen minutes to complete.

4. Will my participation involve any physical discomfort?

The current experiment will not include any physical discomfort.

5. Will my participation involve any psychological discomfort or embarrassment?

The current study has been risk assessed and should not involve any psychological discomfort although you are able to stop and leave the study at any point if you do experience this and can contact the University for support if you need to.

6. Will I have to provide any bodily sample?

No

7. How will confidentiality be assured?

All information gathered from this experimental study is confidential and at no point will your name or age be publicized and will only be viewable to the above researchers and supervisor. The data from this experiment will be held for three weeks before being destroyed.

8. Will I receive any financial rewards / travel expenses for taking part?

No taking part is voluntary.

9. How can I withdraw from the study?

You can stop the study at any point during the experiment or afterwards by contacting any of the researchers or the supervisor, Michal Tombs who will facilitate your withdrawal and discuss how you would like your data to be treated. The student profile will ask you to chose your own password so that in this scenario your data can be traced and removed.
