The Mississippi Birth Worker Workforce Survey seeks to better understand the birth worker workforce across the state, including doulas, midwives, lactation professionals, and childbirth educators, and other perinatal support providers. The survey will collect information on demographics, training and certification, practice patterns, geographic service areas, reimbursement, workforce sustainability, and integration with health care systems.

Survey findings will provide a comprehensive picture of Mississippi’s birth worker workforce and help identify opportunities to strengthen maternal health services, improve access to care, and inform policy and workforce development efforts. Participants will also have the option to volunteer for a follow-up interview to further explore experiences and perspectives related to birth work in Mississippi.

The survey will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete, and all responses will be kept confidential.
