Planning Goals

Last winter, we heard about issues that were important to you. Based on this input, we are working on draft goals and objectives to address these issues in the Statewide Active Transportation and Transit Plan. Help us to understand your priorities, so we can apply the right objectives and performance measures in the next step of the process. Thank you for your time!

Increase active transportation use in North Dakota.

Maintain or increase the amount of transportation funding dedicated to active transportation infrastructure and programming.

Maintain the state’s existing active transportation network and grow these resources to encourage environmental and economic sustainability.

Proactively communicate with North Dakota citizens, other public agencies, transportation advocates, and other stakeholders to educate and advocate for active transportation.

Coordinate the growth of active and public transportation networks to enable seamless multi-modal travel throughout the state.

Facilitate a system in which all active transportation users feel safe.

Leverage transportation technologies to advance active transportation.

Increase the use of active transportation to improve community health outcomes.
