Expression of interest form
The Office of Multicultural Interests invites culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) associations to register their interest to attend workshops on organisational governance and volunteer management.
These pilot workshops are designed to provide knowledge and insights to leadership teams/committees of CaLD community associations on key elements surrounding effective governance and volunteer management. These pilot workshops will be focused on supporting smaller and/or newly established CaLD community groups, to effectively operate in the community sector.
Please note that these workshops are aimed at a committee level, where all or large portion of the committee are required to attend. Hence, you will be registering on behalf of your wider committee.
Workshops will cover the following content:
Organisational Management
This 3-hour workshop will cover the following topics:- What is Governance?
- Fiduciary duties
- Exploring your Constitution
- Governance Principles:
- Good Governance
- Board/Management Committee
- Sub-committees
- Staff and reporting lines
- Segregation of duties
- Governance oversight
Management of Volunteers
This 3-hour workshop will cover the following topics:
- Volunteering Trends
- Recruitment
- Retention/Motivation
- Job Design for Volunteers
- Managing Performance
- Audit of Key Processes
- Improvement Areas for your Organisation
New associations are strongly recommended to register. Please be aware several workshops will be run throughout 2023.
