As Calgary grows, so too is its deficit of cultural and recreational projects. Our city needs $2.5 billion of facilities just to catch up.

Jobs alone will not be enough to attract people to our city as the worldwide economy improves. Cultural and recreational assets are critical to recruiting and retaining today’s workers.

The time to invest is now.

Current municipal funding isn’t working. So Transformation Calgary is proposing a bold and innovation solution to keep our city vibrant and competitive: the community investment option. It would be modest 1% tax that’s in effect for just fours years and could raise nearly $1 billion for cultural and recreational projects.
