The primary goal of family support is to provide a wide array of options to individuals with disabilities and their families that enable them to stay together and live in a nurturing environment, maintain relationships with families and loved ones and be welcomed, contributing members in their home communities.Which Programs Would You Like to See Offered at The Arc of the South Shore? Parent Training – Training for parents in general techniques such as schedule/routine, positive behavior supports, setting limits, etc. Parent Mentoring - a parent pairing system to have parents with experience with an issue provide support and guidance to parents that are new to the situation. Men's Social/Recreational Group - a community based, social-recreational group for adult men Ladies' Social/Recreational Group - a community based, social-recreational group for audlt women Teen Night - a center and community based night for teens to gather, socialize and engage in recreational activities Culture Club - an opportunity to learn about different cultures through activities like art, music, cooking and more Adult Weekend Respite - skill building respite opportunity on Saturday Vocational/Employment Training - an opportunity to learn sorting, assembly, janitorial, clerical, resume and interviewing skills.
