I/DD Advocacy Strategy Forum Input Survey: Introduction

On April 27, 2018 Community Connect Maine, sponsored by UNE Maine LEND, is joining together a small group of people that represent the Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) community in an Advocacy Strategy Forum.

The aim of this forum is to explore current challenges across a diverse representation of the I/DD community to increase understanding, uncover common themes and develop advocacy strategies.

We are striving to include underserved populations such as New Mainers, Native Americans and rural Maine as challenges may vary depending on such factors.

To inform our forum discussion we would like to hear across Maine about:
  • what you feel is the top challenge(s) to support the I/DD community (or related conditions)
  • your ideas for solutions to these challenges
Being more connected with each other gives us the opportunity to have a stronger voice with policy makers and builds relationships within our community to support each other. If you would like to learn more about the advocacy strategies generated from the April 27th forum, or to keep informed on current topics, please share your contact information at the end of the survey.

Please share with others that may be interested in providing input.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey.
