Full Scale Exercise Volunteer Registration

We need your help. To properly test the McLean County Health Department’s ability to quickly and efficiently dispense medications to McLean County residents in the event of a large-scale public health emergency, we need to test our procedures in a simulated emergency environment. We are reaching out to you in hopes that you would like to volunteer, or know of someone who may be willing to volunteer, to act as a member of the public who has come to our Point of Dispensing site (POD) for medication.

The Full-Scale Exercise will be held at ISU Redbird Arena from 8:15 a.m. until 12 noon on Friday, September 14th and will allow the Health Department, the McLean County Emergency Management Agency, and Illinois State University to jointly test the process for providing medication to all McLean County residents during a public health emergency.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and will be expected to participate in the exercise for the entire duration of the shift selected. Expect a lot of walking, as participation will involve walking through the medication dispensing process as many times as possible during the duration of the selected shift. Also, volunteers must attend a short training at the Hancock Stadium Club (located just North of Redbird Arena) 30 minutes prior to the start of their shift for exercise instructions.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to help us prepare for a large-scale public health emergency.
If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the following survey. Exercise staff will contact you in August to confirm your participation and to provide further details.

If you have questions or need more information, please contact David Hopper at the McLean County Health Department.
