Blackboard 101: Building Your Course
In this workshop, you will receive instructions on how to organize your course and how to share content with students. By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
  • organize your course into logical, consistent chunks;
  • personalize the course theme to fit your needs and personality;
  • share documents, presentation materials, and multimedia.
Blackboard 201: Interaction and Collaboration
In this workshop, we will demonstrate Blackboard tools that promote interaction and collaboration. By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
  • set class expectations with the Announcements and Start Here areas;
  • use the email tool to contact individual students or groups of students;
  • lecture online with WebEx;
  • use the groups tool to encourage collaboration among your students;
  • and use the Discussion Forum tool to promote student interaction.
Blackboard 301: Assessing Students
In this workshop, we will demonstrate the use of assessment tools and discuss assessment best practices. By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
  • organize project submissions with the Assignment tool;
  • check students’ comprehension with Tests;
  • get genuine feedback with anonymous Surveys;
  • and grade student work in the Grade Center.
