Cat containment for areas surrounding Jerrabomberra Wetlands survey |
The ACT Government is seeking your comments on the proposal to declare areas adjacent to the Jerrabomberra Wetlands a cat containment area. Under the Domestic Animals Act 2000, an area can be declared a cat containment area where cats pose a serious threat to native wildlife. The Jerrabomberra Wetlands Nature Reserve is one of the most valuable wetland habitat areas in the ACT and is of national and international importance. Animals living in the wetlands are at risk of predation by roaming cats that live in nearby residential areas.
