We want an opportunity to know who you are.

To help working families and the community partners that support them become more informed on those running for a statewide office, we respectfully ask that you respond to the questions below.  Once completed, we will share the input via the CAPPA Monday Morning Update that goes out every week to over 8,500 readers as well as host on our website.  Readers include family child care providers & centers, working families, community partners, advocates as well as to California legislators, their staffs and individuals within the state and federal Administrations.

7.California has a 45-plus year history of having enacted legislation that created community-based programs in all 58 counties targeted towards lifting up the needs of working families and their children.  These programs are known as either an Alternative Payment Program (APP) and/or Resource & Referral.  Please provide input to the following:

10.Many families require access to child care either before or after school, during weekends, holidays or when the public schools are not in session.  Do you have any ideas on how to better support the real working needs of parents to accessible child care?
11.As of Sep 12, 2022, the average annual pay for a Child Care Worker in California is $23,983.  Due to years of neglect, the workforce is now insufficient to meet the access needs of families.  If families cannot access child care to support them with their employment, employers and the economy will suffer.  What are your thoughts on addressing this crisis situation?
