Thank you for agreeing to participate in this important study for the Meetings Industry in Canada. The Business Events Industry Coalition of Canada (BEICC) is pleased to be launching this study for the first time under its guardianship. Data collected from this study will be used to share the economic impact of Business Events with Government, Academia and Corporate Canada. The BEICC will also be using the data to feed a calculation tool that will allow destinations, planners and exhibitors to input their event numbers and determine the economic footprint of a specific event, venue or destination.
The survey will use language from the Meetings Industry and a number of terms that have very specific meanings.
For instance, the term "meeting" refers to a gathering of 10 or more people for a minimum of 4 hours in a commercially- booked venue, whereby the venue requires a contract or agreement for use, with or without payment. Further, the term “meeting” includes everything from a small gathering of 10 or more people in a booked room to larger conventions, conferences, congresses, consumer shows, trade shows and exhibitions, incentive events, corporate/business meetings, and other meetings that meet the aforementioned criteria.
The success of this study depends on the participation of people like you so please try to be as accurate as possible. The research company will hold all of your responses in strict confidence. It is completely voluntary and no compensation will be provided.
The survey will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. Some questions drill down to specific spend on projects and it may be helpful to have a good idea of line items in your budgets as you complete the questions. We encourage you to complete the survey in one sitting, however, should you be called away, you may return to the survey and pick up where you left off.
