NWKS Food Climate Survey

Healthy and robust food systems help to support and sustain healthy communities and strong local economies.  One of the key steps to understanding a community food systems’ current strengths and gaps is to conduct a comprehensive assessment.

This assessment is conducted by Western Prairie Food Farm and Community Alliance (WPFFCA) which includes the counties of Cheyenne, Decatur, Gove, Logan, Rawlins, Sheridan, Sherman, Thomas and Wallace.

WPFFCA was formed in 2017 with two representatives from each county.  The Alliance meets monthly to discuss local, state and national strategies and provides updates on each county.  The Alliance conducted a survey in 2017 to set our strategic priorities and has been working on these strategies. It is time to assess and determine new strategic priorities to continue improving the health and food system environment of these NWKS counties.
