Disability Poverty Campaign Group food poverty survey.

Disabled people are more likely to experience food poverty due to factors such as extra disability‑related costs, low incomes, and barriers to accessing affordable and appropriate food. Food poverty can include skipping meals, relying on food banks, or being unable to afford or prepare nutritious food.

This survey aims to understand disabled people’s experiences of food poverty and food insecurity. Your responses will help inform policy and campaign work to improve support and reduce food poverty for Disabled people.
1.In the last 12 months has your current income (including wages and benefits you receive) covered the cost of food you need to stay healthy?
2.Have rising food prices in the past year made it harder for you to buy the food you need?
3.Has difficulty affording food had a negative impact on your physical and mental health?
4.Have you skipped meals or reduced portion sizes in the last year because you couldn't afford enough food?
5.Do you face any barriers accessing food (e.g. transport, accessibility, online access, energy for cooking)?
6.Have you had to use a foodbank in the last 12 months?
7.Do the additional costs you have because of being Disabled (for example extra costs for mobility, or medical equipment, heating, care, travel, or medical needs) reduce the money you have available for food?
