Title of the study
Exploring the relationship between self-talk, resilience, self-compassion, and trait emotional intelligence in chess players
Aim of the Study
The study aims to understand the relationship between self-talk, resilience, self-compassion, and trait emotional intelligence in a sample of chess players aged over 18.
Description of research activities
You will be asked to complete an online questionnaire which should take about 10 to 15 minutes to complete. This questionnaire will ask about your chess playing, self-talk, resilience, self-compassion, and trait emotional intelligence. You can complete the questionnaire at your own pace.
Risks/ discomfort involved
There are minimal risks involved in participating in this study. You may feel uncomfortable or find it difficult to answer some questions, but remember you can choose not to answer any question or withdraw at any time.
Expected impact
The results of this study will contribute to the understanding of psychological dynamics in chess players, potentially informing future training and mental strategies in chess. It may also assist in developing psychological interventions to enhance resilience and overall performance in chess players.
Dissemination of results
The results will be published in my thesis, in scientific journals, and presented at conferences. Your data will be anonymized and kept strictly confidential. Only the researcher will have access to the raw data.
