* 1. Thank you for expressing interest in volunteering for the Green Meetings Industry Council Sustainable Meetings Conference. As a volunteer you will receive complimentary admission and lunch in exchange for volunteering. Please be prepared to volunteer between 8 hours in the form of two - three shifts on April 15th-17th, 2014. We typically need help in the following areas:

- Registration Assistant | Help set up the registration area prior to the start of the conference. Assist with a variety of tasks such as directing attendees, general registration, badge printing, speaker check in, setup/breakdown, etc.

- Directing Attendees | Help set up the registration area prior to the start of the conference. Assisting with a variety of tasks such as directing attendees to different programs, restrooms, exhibitor stations, etc…

- Room Monitor | Monitor the session door and answer basic questions about the event. Display time warning cards for speakers, take room counts, run the mic for the Q&A session as well as maintain the drinking water station and assist the stage manager as needed.

- Waste Management | Monitor Tri-bin Waste Stations during the conference to help attendees dispose of compost, recycling and landfill waste. Assist with waste measurement and sorting as needed.

* 4. What are you looking to gain through your volunteer experience? What are you hoping to contribute as volunteer for the Sustainable Meetings Conference? Please briefly describe any experience you have that prepares you for this role (bonus points for sustainability related experience or interest).

* 8. In additional to your conference volunteer shift, we have the opportunity of being a Volunteer Tour Guide. Volunteers will be responsible for checking in attendees, taking photos during the tour, and following up with the tours guides for any post tour feedback.
