2021 Conference Presenter Survey |
2021– a year where we emerge from the chaos that ensued, and are re-born. We approach this year perhaps with more hesitance, or more gratitude for how our lives were in the previous years, with one thing becoming increasingly clear– life as we know it, will never be the same again.
Fear not! We have had enough horrible news and negativity for a lifetime, and so it is time to action the resilience, innovation and determination we saw in the Drama community last year to – Raise Your Voice!
The overarching title of our conference this year – Raise Your Voice! Was inspired by our desire to have more of a focus on inclusivity for our community. The all-encompassing theme urges for us to engage with and share narratives from minority groups and our regional and rural members, to become more involved, engaged and supported in 2021. Our ground-breaking ‘hub’ conference aims to do just that. We also wanted to inspire our Drama community to speak up for the Arts after a very turbulent year, and the uncertainty in moving forward this year.
In 2021, we ask you to consider what else needs to change, in order to make our world richer and more compassionate. We ask you to Raise Your Voice to tell your stories and fight for what you believe in. We ask you to open your ears and hearts to the diverse stories we hear, both inside and outside our classrooms. How can we ensure that the narratives we retell maintain authenticity to their origin? Can we be brave enough to make more space for difference?
