Power Sector Net Zero Standard Pilot Testing Application Form

Introduction
We appreciate your interest in participating in the SBTi Power Sector Net-Zero Standard Pilot Testing. This application survey helps us gather key information about your organization, capacity, and relevance to the pilot testing. The objective is to select participants who are well-positioned to trial the proposed approach and provide constructive, experience-based feedback.

The draft Power Standard builds on, and will replace the SBTi Quick Start Guide for Electric Utilities (2020), expanding its scope to cover a more comprehensive list of sector activities and emission sources across the sector’s value chains, including power generation, electricity transmission and distribution, electricity storage, trade and retail. The main output of this project is the SBTi Power Sector Net-Zero Standard, supported by the following deliverables (drafts from first Public consultation subject to changes):
The objective of this pilot test is to thoroughly test the understanding and feasibility of implementation of the draft Power Sector Sector Net-Zero Standard, in particular:
  • Ensure the SBTi Power Sector Net-Zero Standard and Target-setting Tool are robust, clear and practical.
  • Identify any challenges for implementing the SBTi Power Sector Net-Zero Standard across the four key business activities within the Standard’s scope.
  • Inform the development of SBTi Power Sector Net-Zero Standard final draft before it is sent for approval.
  • Test the feasibility of validating companies against the standard and the clarity of the written requirements.
For terms, definitions and guidance on the metrics referenced in this survey please refer to the SBTi Power Sector Net-Zero Standard first consultation draft (available here). Please note that the Power Standard draft is subject to changes based on feedback from the first public consultation.
