Wildlife Visitors to My Yard (Citizen Science in Action)
Habitat conservation efforts in the United States have been predominantly focused on protecting natural ecosystems. In residential ecosystems, people have the potential to strongly influence wildlife population dynamics, directly or indirectly, intentionally or unintentionally, through landscaping, bird feeding, and pet ownership practices. In an effort to draw valid conclusions, please do your observations at about the same time of day each time you report. Mornings or late afternoon/evening are probably the best times to observe the greatest number of critters.
This Citizen Science project attempts to provide insights by collecting data on 'Wildlife Visitors to My Yard'. You should do you observations for about a half hour before you begin this survey. You will be noting the presence or absence of a wide variety of critters.
