Ideal Participants
The program is open to all Chicago professionals who currently work in the nonprofit/social sector. This program targets mid-level professionals (5-7 years experience) who currently have responsibilities that include managing people and/or a variety of projects. YNPN Chicago membership is not a requirement to be eligible for Leadership Institute; however, preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate engagement with YNPN Chicago through membership and/or event attendance.

If Accepted, Participants Should:

• Be able to attend all seven monthly sessions, January to July 2027. In-person sessions meet from 9am-1pm and virtual sessions meet from 9am-12pm. Session dates include 1/22 (in-person), 2/19 (virtual), 3/19 (in-person), 4/23 (virtual), 5/21 (in-person), 6/11 (virtual), 7/16 (in-person).
• Have the support of their current employer which includes having time off to attend monthly sessions and having the opportunity to apply new skills in the workplace.
• Have additional time and energy to complete readings, reflections, and assignments between monthly sessions.
• Be willing and prepared to engage in personal reflection and in active, respectful discussions with other cohort members.

Application Process
All applicants will be asked to submit an online application along with a resume and letter of reference by 11:59 pm CT on Thursday, October 8, 2026. Your reference letter should be no more than one page long and provided by either your immediate supervisor or someone who knows you well, professionally or personally.

There is no interview process; all applicants will be notified of final decisions by late November. Accepted participants will receive upon their acceptance, the information needed for a January start to the program.
