Tour Overview & Participation Requirements
Illinois Green Alliance's 8th annual GreenBuilt Home Tour will be held the weekend of July 25 & 26, 2020. The tour showcases both new, high-performance green homes that have achieved or are pursuing third-party recognition as well as high performing renovated homes that have pursued substantial sustainability retrofits/features in their homes.
Each year, our goal is to increase public awareness for healthy, efficient, and sustainable homes and showcase strategies that can be widely implemented by attendees within their current or future homes.
Illinois Green Alliance is seeking applications for both the Certified Green Homes track and the Green Renovation Homes track. Learn more about the two tracks of homes and which category best fits your application here!
Application Requirements & Expectations:
There is no application fee to participate on the tour, but selected homes are required to commit to the following items to ensure a successful event for everyone involved. Failure to commit to the requirements below may result in removal from the 2020 tour.

There is no application fee to participate on the tour, but selected homes are required to commit to the following items to ensure a successful event for everyone involved. Failure to commit to the requirements below may result in removal from the 2020 tour.
- Complete the below application in full by March 6, 2020.
- Provide at least 1 high resolution home photo or rendering.
- Participate in ALL bi-weekly calls during June and July.
- Reply to Illinois Green staff in a timely manner in regards to home description updates, photo requests and tour logistics.
- Provide staff with 3 - 5 potential tour sponsors (i.e. contractors, product manufacturers, suppliers that contributed to your home)
- Assist in the marketing of the GreenBuilt Home Tour within the project team's networks and in the community where the home is located. (Marketing materials will be provided.)
Applications must be received by Friday, March 6, 2020 to be considered for inclusion during the 2020 GreenBuilt Home Tour.
Between 10 to 15 homes will be selected to participate. Applicants will be notified about the status of their application by April 1, 2020.
