The Art of Science Translation Competition Application
Application Procedures
To apply to to The Art of Science Translation Competition, you must meet the following qualifications:
- Qualify as a new professional or post-doc (<10 years in the profession)
- Have an active membership in IFT
- Have registered for the IFT19 Annual Meeting
Applicants must submit all the required materials, including their video, by April 1, 2019 at 11:59pm CT. Submissions after April 1 will not be accepted.
Required Materials include:
- Completed application (this form)
- Two-minute video presentation OR 200 word abstract. Please send videos to: The_Art.wbcwetybbe2j8rlp@u.box.com
- Signed Video Release Forms from each person appearing in the video, if you choose to make a video
- Current CV/Resume
Videos should be no longer than two minutes and abstracts no longer than 200 words. They should include the following: - The Science (description of the research) - The Story (how the research findings can be applied) - The Presentation Style (captivation and clarity) - Translation (how the work is translatable) Applicants are encouraged to exercise creative freedom when creating their video. Avenues such as presenting, cartoons, skits, or other creative means can be used. Use of inappropriate language, gestures, or visuals is prohibited and will results in disqualification.
