2018 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Leadership Award

Now is the time to submit nominations for the recipient of the 2018 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Leadership Award. Each year on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, (January 15, 2018) the City of Eugene Human Rights Commission recognizes an individual for their contribution in the area of human rights and race relations. This year the award will be given out during the NAACP event at the Shedd Institute directly following the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day march.
The Human Rights Commission is seeking nominations for the award and would like nominations from organizations, individuals, or community groups. Please remember, anyone who has received the award in the past, is a City of Eugene employee, or is currently a member of the Human Rights Commission is ineligible.
The deadline to provide a nomination is 5 p.m., December 15, 2017.
Please nominate a group or an individual who you believe demonstrates leadership in making Eugene a more inclusive and supportive city for its communities of color.
