Quick guide : Call for evidence

The Housing LIN and ARUP are working with the Centre for Ageing Better to develop a series of ‘quick guides’ on making the built environment age-friendly that can be used by local authorities or anyone with responsibilities for designing the built environment. Based on our research, 7 built environment features have been selected for this quick guides series:
1. Seating and rest areas
2. Toilets
3. Parks and green spaces
4. Public and community buildings
5. Bus stops
6. Streets and pavements
7. Wayfinding and signage
We are now looking for examples of where local authorities, or other organisations with responsibility for these areas in local communities, have successfully delivered or supported an age-friendly approach for these 7 features for showcasing within these guides. Please complete this survey by Friday 28th November 5pm. Many thanks in advance for the time taken to complete this survey. Any questions, please contact research@housinglin.org.uk
1.What local authority/organisation do you work for?
2.Can you describe any initiatives, designs, improvements or resident involvement approaches your local authority/organisation has implemented to make [seating and rest areas / toilets / parks and green spaces / public and community buildings / streets and pavements / wayfinding and signage] more age-friendly? (Please include brief details about what was done, where, and who was involved.)
3.How was it made possible? What factors helped make this initiative successful — for example, partnerships, funding sources, co-producing with older residents, policy support, or organisational leadership?
4.What difference has it made (and what have you learned)? What impact have you observed on older people or the wider community, and what lessons would you share with others planning similar work?
Please email any supporting documents, images, or case studies that showcase your age-friendly initiatives to research@housinglin.org.uk
5.Any other comments?
