The City of Duluth has appointed a Task Force for the purpose of gathering information, collecting public input, propose best options and bringing forward recommendations concerning an Earned Sick and Safe leave to the City Council.

“Safety leave" is leave for the purpose of providing or receiving assistance because of sexual assault, domestic abuse, or stalking.

"Sick leave" means time available to an employee to be used as a result of absence from work due to personal illness or injury, or due to the illness of or injury to the employee's child, spouse, sibling, parent, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandchild, grandparent, or stepparent.
