DHCRC survey of digital health education and training in Australia

Overview

This survey is part of the DHCRC scan of the Australian digital health education landscape. The aim of this survey is to determine what digital health courses and training are currently being offered, what is being planned, what is missing and what should be provided in the future to assist with the digital transformation of Australia’s health system.

One of DHCRC’s primary missions is to assist with capability and workforce capacity building in digital health in Australia but not replicate what is already being done in this space. It is hoped that the responses to this survey will highlight areas of need and inform DHCRC’s planning processes, resource allocation and investment decisions.

For the purposes of this survey, digital health courses have been classified into five categories and seven levels (six of which align with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)) as follows:

2.     Digital health technology

3.     Health data science

4.     Health informatics

5.     Health information management

Course levels

1.     Certificate IV (AQF Level 4)

2.     Bachelor (AQF Level 7)

3.     Graduate Certificate (AQF Level 8)

4.     Postgraduate Diploma (AQF Level 8)

5.     Masters (AQF Level 9)

6.     PhD (AQF Level 10)

7.     Micro-credential (from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), Non-RTO or registered Higher Education Provider (HEP))

Survey details

In phase one of this analysis, the URL for this survey will be distributed to DHCRC participants and will close at midnight on Monday 9 September 2019. Please feel free to share this survey with relevant people within your institution/organisation. Multiple responses from single institutions/organisations are welcome. Once feedback from phase one is collated, DHCRC will seek input from other stakeholders.

Names, titles, roles, institutions and other answers will be de-identified in initial reporting and if necessary respondents will be contacted and their permission sought before any identified data is released.

Any personal information (e.g. email addresses) collected in this survey will be stored securely and not shared with any third party.
